Website blocker ?

is there a website blocker for Firefox ? I can't seem to find one . Sometimes I click links that take me to pages I know have pop ups or are just going to be useless . For example I click a link to a story on the New York Times website . You have to be a member to read the story and I dont want to join so to me the site is useless . It would be nice to find a browser extension or something that would let me sort of bookmark URL's for my browser to block. Does anybody know of anything like that for Firefox ?

I dont know about the blocker but check out bugmenot.com for places you want to visit that force registration. Stick it to the man!

with the adblock extention you can set whole or partial urls to be blocked

also with firefox you can right click on banners and click "block images from this server" or something like that. I really should start using that browser again.
