Hi everyone, here is what I' m working on , for an australian contest.. the finished thing will be a 6k normal mapped character..
I decided to go for a fantasy "Thai" fighter..

I'm not sure about the mouth, it doesn't look like the lips curve inwards properly.

yeah I'm aware of it... I want to try if it's possible to correct it in Zbrush.. otherwise, I'll change it
thx JKMakowka for the comment, I reduced the size of the muscle of the neck, I think the neck seems higher that way..
cause I think the head is high enough.. but I may be wrong ^^ I'll see later..
finally, I changed my method, I decided to finalize the low poly version first..
5670 tri without the hair... I guess I'll have to light up a little bit on some parts to fit the 6k polycount..
Im not sure what this project is being used for, but you may want to stitch some of thoes chunks together, because normal maps are picky. Its best to have very very few seams.
Starting to look pretty good. Face seems to have picked up a lot of age in the ZB phase, though. I'd consider trying to keep him looking a bit more youthful.
I agree with you Suprore, that's the difficulty of Zbrush I think I think so attempting to add a lot of detail , a crease here, some bumps there .. I'll smooth the face a little bit at the end.. still need to fix some stuffs anyway.. thx for the crit..
thx for the ref CMB, I had some refs like this too (and even in color http://www.krumuaythai.net/assets/pictures/Mai_Muay_Thai/Muay_Thai_10.jpg, but as I said briefly, I' m going for something more fantasy than real.. I 'm just looking for a global thai feeling of the character.. because that's the fighting style I want him to have.. (kindof).. but want to have fun to create something.. not just copy a real stuff
I'll give the full background story of the charater at the end
little update;
finally finished the belt..
will redo the trousers , I was trying different kind of folds..

I understand you may see it like that so far.. as there is no folds yet..
I finally completed the mesh, hair and teeth.. 5996 tri yoohoo :P
unwrap is done too..
I' m wondering now if I should start by the diffuse texture and use it for Zbrushing, or the opposite...
like this...

Dont forget the headpiece and shoulder piece.
Earthquake: because I don't have it .. enough?
here is an early test of the full body normal mapped..
I just worked on the skin parts.. the rest is just subdivided mesh without work...
Real thai fighters gloves
