So I grabbed the latest Wacom drivers last night. Did what one is meant to normally do: uninstalled the old drivers first, rebooted, installed the new drivers. The tablet seems to work OK, but double clicking the tablet icon in the control panel (with a view to trying out thomasp's trick in this thread:
http://boards.polycount.net/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=137432&an=0&page=0#Post137432)
gives me this error:
Tablet Version Mismatch
Please reinstall the tablet software
ERROR: THE TABLET DRIVER WAS NOT FOUND.
I've tried all sorts of stuff including uinstalling, deleting all wacom registry keys, re-installing. Same shit. I'm bloody annoyed.
I definitely have an Intuos 2 and am definitely grabbing the correct drivers (WacomTablet_496-7a). Any ideas? Thanks.

I had the same prob with my tablet (which is a graphire, but the release note said it should work).
It just won't work. I tried for like.. a week.
I'd send them a note about it though, and hope for a patch.
C:\WINDOWS\system32
Wintab32.dll
Tablet.exe
WacomTablet.cpl
Then re-installed old drivers and it worked.
Daz try this regcleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com/ Ive had problems with the win registry before and this program sorted it out.
If it ain't broke, don't fix!
I think it's only the newer ones where they made it so you double-clicked the tablet icon in the device list.
I tried some wacom beta drivers and had that problem. Then when I tried to install old drivers it was still broke so I deleted all the wacom files from,
C:\WINDOWS\system32
Wintab32.dll
Tablet.exe
WacomTablet.cpl
Then re-installed old drivers and it worked.
