Each year E3 steals weeks of my time. The E3 demo is a sidetrack. It breaks our focus in my opinion. Pre-production is the time to bring a small portion of your game idea from concept-to-playable.
Yeah, but if E3 continues at a smaller level, don't you think they'll still want you to put together some sort of demo? Honestly, I don't know... I'm just assuming the same pressures would still be there.
One thing to note though, the people attending didn't necessarily make it a circus. The venders/companies did that.
