In search of a 3D Modeller for machinima work...

Hi everyone!

I've been working for a long time on a video game movie for a top European multi-gaming clan (although the team have since split it is still highly anticipated). The game in question is Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

I decided to include a story, therefore a machinima sequence, to give a better flow between the allies and axis fragscenes. I almost have the movie completed - I've been working on it on and off since September 2005 - except for two black gaps where the 3D modelling is supposed to be.

I previously had a 3D Modeller but he's gone AWOL and I've been growing impatient because he told me it would be done by the end of January 2006 (a week after I approached him).

I already have a scene of the sequence capped and edited using only the game engine, but require modelling after that point and again later in the movie. If you're really interested please pm me and I can show you some tests of the machinima part I've shot already with around 25-30 actors.

Here are some screenshots from that section:

I turned off motionblur so you guys could get a better idea of the quality of the model.

Also, here are some screenshots from the rest of the movie:

The game is freeware so if you want to check out anything yourself, models etc then here is a link to where you can download it. http://www.planetwolfenstein.com/files/files.shtml

I can give you more details about the content of the scenes if you contact me by pm or by email address at maxwell1888@gmail.com (also my MSN address) or if I'm being really vague then just ask in here and I'll give you as much info as possible. :-)

Thank you all.

you might have a better chance if you just tell us exactly what you want modeled. Some of us might even have what you want laying around that we could give to ya

Hi, thanks for the reply aesir.

Here's what it is...for those of you who don't know Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a WWII game, comprising of two teams....Allies and Axis.

The story I already have captured is Allied forces closing in on an allied base, killing many of the axis leaving two remaining, who run farther back into the base. As the allies troops run into the base they are surrounded and outnumbered by axis soldiers. That's the basic backstory, and the screenshots from this scene can be seen in the original post.

What I need is a small square room with a door (closed) and a table. On the table I need an Allies medic lying down (maybe strapped down) with two axis medics looking down at him from either side.

One of the axis medics uses their needle to inject the allies medics with a poison which is an attempt to brainwash him. This is followed by flashing images of allied soldiers being killed (I can do those myself) but the allies medic fights it off and the visions fade away.

The allies medic fights his way off the table and the other axis medic takes out his needle and stabs him with it, and a sort of Smith cloning technique (see The Matrix sequels) takes place and the allies medic is transformed into a clone of the axis medic. The scene fades and the axis frag section starts.

At the very last frag of the axis frag sequence there is a kill, and the death of the allied soldier was one of the visions he saw when he was being brainwashed.

As he realises what has happened...cracks start to appear in the axis medic explodes (see The Matrix and The Matrix Revolutions) with only an allied medic left behind in his place. The scene then fades and the credits start.

I hope you understand what I mean.

If you have any better suggestions please feel free to share them. I know Matrix themes are often overused and such but I haven't seen anyone use this type of thing and it would be really interesting to see imo.

alright, that sounded like a lot of work, and its also kinda hard to see exactly what you need in that whole paragraph, so if you could make a bullet list of items that you need, that would help a lot. Im also not sure if you want us to be doing animation for you as well?

    Thanks again aesir

Yes, I'll put it into bullet points of course. Animation would be required yes so I'll edit the original post. You can retrieve the actual player models from the game directory as far as I know.

Scene 1 (Not in a game map)

    - Small Square room with a closed door on one end
    - Rectangular table, capable of fitting a player model in the centre of the room
    - 3 Models (One axis medic on either side of the table, one allies medic on the table)
    - One axis medic using their needle to inject the allies medic
    - Allies medic struggling and eventually fighting free of the table and being on his feet
    - Other axis medic injecting him and the smith cloning technique begins and the allies medic transforms into a clone of the axis medic

    End of scene 1

Scene 2 (on an actual game map - I will specify the position to whoever may wish to do this)

    - Look of shock on axis medic eyes as he realises what had happened to him
    - Cracks appear in the axis medic and it explodes leaving the previous allies medic in its place, and the scene fades as the credits begin.

I should probably mention that the models required already exist in the game, it's only really animation that I need.
