ZBrush for Beginnahs

So I downloaded the 30-day trial for ZBrush and I've been putzing around with it. I'm a beginner for 3D and I didn't like working with Maya at all. ZBrush's forums are a little helpful and their ZBrush wiki is ok, but I'm having some troubles.
When I try to switch to brushes other than the sphere brush it sends me to draw mode then won't let me switch back to edit mode. Do you think this is because of the demo or am I missing something (hitting T doesn't work)
Anyway I would like to learn this program as it seems a LOT easier for my mind than Maya. Does anyone know of some really good step by step tutorials for this? As well as some examples of work created with this program? Any help would be appreciated. I'm a total beginner here.
