I took the kids to our usual fireworks location. It was a bit dull this year. About a half an hour shorter than normal and just basic fireworks. Guess the budget was too low this year. Either way though, it was still great to watch. We sit basically underneath them (just across a canal from the firing zone).
For me, I celebrate how the declaration of arbroath was used in part to word the US declaration of indepedence and celebrate what might have been and how someone still managed it so I guess I've adopted the celebratory day.
There were two great firework shows both within 3 miles of my house.. it was just an unbelievable sight. Plus it was my son's birthday so great day all away around!
Yeah, happy 230th Uncle Sam. Sometimes this town pisses me off, but I gotta admit that sinking a few cans from my friends deck tonight taking in a view of fireworks going off throughout the entire city was pretty atmospheric.

Have fun, and be careful. Don't point roman candles at people, have a designated driver, and eat some grub! 0mfgBBQ!!
