not entirely sure what mentos are, but when i was a kid i once dropped a Hundred and Thousand (one of those tiny little sugar balls they decorate cakes with, smaller than the smallest sweet ever)into a bottle of coke, just to see what happened. The effect was similar, all over the kitchen, all over everywhere. The look on my mum's face was priceless, she loved every minute of it. The things kids do ...

Mintoes and Mentos are two different candies. Mentos have a an outer shell which seems to be a very good surface for CO2 bubbles to form, on that note it would be very uncomfortable to try and swallow an unchewed Mentos to see what would happen in your stomach.
