Just wondering if we have any Dragonlance fans here? I'm just about to finish up the final book of the War of Souls and have enjoyed the series very much. I've only read the books written by Weiss and Hickman but some of the others seem like they may be worth a shot. I have to say that Chronicles is by far the best trilogy, but the others have their moments also. BTW, if you like DL the new novel comes out July 11th " Dragons of Dwarven Depths" It follows the original group on their journey to find the Hammer of Kharas so we get more of Flint. So, as I asked before, anyone else dig dragonlance? hehe

i tried to read a dragonlance book years and years ago ... i say "tried" cos it was absolutely unreadable. Like literary pig iron.

I'm a fan of Raistlin (obvious but true) before they turned him into a good guy (read: wuss). It's kind of up to you. I liked the first three and I guess some of the brother War or whatever it was called though the end of that forever turned me from dragonlance. I was understandably uninterested in dragonlance kids so I never read the later tales.

I honestly tried to read the first series. I couldn't finish it. Despite the fact that I worked for TSR, I could never bring myself to really like the books they published.

i've only read the first page of Soulforge, part of the Lord Soth novel and most of the Knight of the Black Rose which was a Ravenloft novel about Lord Soth. of the DragonLance setting that is, i've read several of the Ravenloft novels though.

damn. Some of the writing is poor but I looked past it due to enjoying most of the characters. Tasslehoff and Flint are my favorites with Raist coming in 3rd. Even though he's a prick.

I loved them when I was a kid. Loved loved loved. It was actually kind of ridiculous how many of those books I had. Chronicles and Legends were surely the best (only ones worth reading to an adult, really). I tried rereading them and was quite underwhelmed, but they're fond memories.

I read them all when I was a young TEEN . They are great books if you are younger . I think they have great characters in the sense that they are easy to fallow when you are younger . Lord of the Rings if by far a better series but the books are not as easy to read for younger minds in my opinion . I did not fully appreciate LOTR books until I was older .

I read the first 13 or so books. I enjoyed it at the time, but after they killed off the characters I had grown to love it became quite difficult to read.

They had great character development in Dragonlance, I can say that much.

I read the three main books, and a few of the others, but they didn't really match up to the first three. I would have kept it as a standalone trilogy and not written any more, but hey...

Big fan of the story though, and even the various sequels are an entertaining read.
