Havent been a regular around these parts in a while. I have a bunch of stuff that was never completed so Im salvaging what I can and redoing the rest. A lot of my old stuff was meant to be quake and half life players, but Im only going to texture and possibly rig what I plan to place in here.
First up Garrison from the long gone Battle Chasers comic.

    I like this mookster, well built, but I don't think it is spot on according to the comic... needs more Joe Mad! deform:

    but I think you could skin him up and have yourself a fine looking player model smile.gif Also, when posting images, you should be sure to save them at the highest resolution setting in photoshop so they don't look blurry. Post more!

    old thread bump, yay
    There went that plan. Oh well. Heres an update for this model.
    Sword has changed. I also plan on changing his boots a bit, make them leather rather than the stone look they have now. Any crits definitely welcomed, as I need to build up my texturing skills.

    the color scheme feels very solid

    his knightly armored boots look like sleepers...

    how about if the sword strap and his arm straps featured the white+ruins design of the calf straps?

    as for the texture: the straps-lines are too pixelated, considering how smooth is your rendering.

    if you can make it look like the comic version you sir will be a bad ass. right now though yes, your textures are lacking. Im not sure if you plan on normal mapping this (I would, you should=p) but I would take care of the high poly before you carry on to your texture. then figure out if your going to use a skin shader or not. after all that, then I would call the textures you have on right now a base lay in.

    the textures need alot more color, and alot more tone variations to look like the comic does...but im not sure if your going for the comic version, or a much simplified version?

    preeeeety cool, needs more variation, texture to spice it up a bit - unless you intend to go the way of the cel shaded. reguardless it is consistently awesome! -
