I'm sure he has someone help him with the colors. If he has someone help with the outline for him, I'm sure he has someone help with at least selecting appropriate colors for him to work with.
Xenobond: I'd guess he probably has braille-coded paint tubes, and over the 35 years he's been painting, he's learned from people looking at his work or telling him what colours are what, he probably has a pretty good idea of colour theory, paint mixing, and the general colours of everyday things.

He needs to feel that he is "inside" his painting-- in fact, when he is drawing a picture of the sea, he often wonders if he should wear a life jacket so as not drown!
I remember this guy telling that he would ask people about the colors and shapes that he's painting in his early days. It's amazing that he needs that no more. Oh and he's from my country btw
Pretty cool that he can do that but I just wonder why he does it. To me it would be a complete waste of time. Maybe the 'ooohs' 'ahhhs' and congratulations are enough to keep him motivated but why do something half assed when you could do something great like play a musical instrument? Maybe the only people he meets are trying to wrap their minds around the idea of painting without ever having seen anything to give him proper feedback. He's obviously got way above average brain activity, why not use it for something that doesn't look like a bag of ass?
