Go crazy with contrast, pick colours from photos, use sections from photos (contrast/hue adjusted) as a base to paint over on your texture.

You're still lacking a lot of contrast there. You need more darks around the nostrils and base of the nose, more highlights on the lips, a smoother transition from lipstick to flesh, some dark shadow under the lower lip, more shading (shadow and highlight) around under the eye, more highlight on the nose and forehead.

I did a quick and crappy paintover, hope you don't mind:

I think you should definitely take another look at the geometry around the eye area - those shapes are looking mighty unrealistic ... also, the eye texture needs a lot of work. Don't be afraid to google up some images of brown eyes, copy and paste the iris onto your texture, scale/distort it so it fits nicely, then paint over it until it looks like a part of the same texture.

Also, while it's called the white of the eye, it's never actually white smile.gif

I think the model could use some work as well. The forehead looks way too big to me and her jaw way too small.

My even quicker edit of MoP's quick edit: crazy.gif

Thnx for the tips and comments, here are the flats if anyone is interested?
Ill try to make those changes, also the head might need refining but i doubt its way off, I used print screens from the original model in-game :P

The hair needs a lot more depth too, try working in layers from dark to light, with varied opacity. The roots of hair are usually darker, and there are varying shades of brown, black and some red in a brunette's hair. Study some light and shadow on female models for reference. Have you thought about doing your own laura croft-styled chracter instead of just laura croft?

yes i did but this project was to match the model as close as possible.
I added eyelids (with lashes) havent got round to fixing the skin yet, did allot of cleaning up though. Will do the texture contrast and eye thing next...
Btw.. how come i rarely get replys over at P&P while this topic seems to be replied in.. hmm i might have somethnig to do with Ms croft eh?

Please don't take offense at this... you can do whatever you want.. smile.gif I'd worry less about this being a 'portfolio' piece and rather use models as practice pieces and only add those peices you like best as a portfolio peice. Again, I'm not dissing your model, I'm still a noob modeller but I'd suggest posting alot of practice stuff to get crits on here and only decide if a peice is a portfolio peice after your done and proud of how the model comes out..

    but that's only... my opinion.

okay MoP thnx allot I played with the contrast on a few areas and here is the outcome, the nose is a bit blegh gonna fix that... and the eyes are semi-fixed...
