OK, I saw the culinary disaster thread with a list of fav beers, so I thought I would start a beer thread. (Yes, I am sure those of you that know me are completely surprised...). So, without further ado...
My current favs:

As for more refreshing and light beers, sometimes, when i can find it here, Desperados or Corona...

Strangely can't find too much on Caffreys on the web, but I havent seen it available in the US for some time.

Rat City IPA - A new favorite. Maltier than many IPA, with an abundance of hops.
Dick's IPA and ESB - Can't go wrong with a little Dick's
LaConner IPA and ESB - Top notch. Always.
Stone Arrogant Bastard, IPA, Ruination, etc. - Hops. Fuck yeah.
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale - Even better than their flagship. (And more alcohol)
Maritime Pacific Brewing Jolly Roger Holiday - Tasty and dangerous. 8% ABV
Mac N Jack's African Amber - Unfiltered malty, hoppy, tasty hangover maker.
Diamond Knot IPA - One of the best northwest IPAs
North Coast Brewing Red Seal Ale - Hoppy amber, well balanced
Elysian Brewing ESB - Beautiful northwest style amber/bitter.
Rogue Brutal Bitter - Possibly my favorite beer in the world. Amber/bitter with extra hops.

R13: Try the Blackthorn under Guiness - like a black n' tan with cider instead of lager. Awesome.

For any of you Seattle natives, or any of you who are visiting Seattle, there is a new bar in the Experience Music Project that has 50 beers on tap. They did have Hoegaarden on tap for those of you who are fond of it, as well as Rogue Brutal Bitter for those of us that enjoy the other end of the beer spectrum. They had a very nice selection of almost every beer type.

Although unfiltered beers may tend to have a bit more flavor, they can also cause worse hangovers from my experience. Something about the extra grain sediment just gets me every time, if I have more than two of them.
Lager: Beer fermented at cold temperature with bottom-fermenting yeast. Fermentation is longer. 3 weeks to several months.
These are the two major methods of brewing, and most beers fall under the umbrellas of these two methods. All beers are composed of water, malted barley, yeast, and hops. These were the original components that the German law specified. Obviously a there are a lot of supplementary ingredients added nowdays.
Pale Ales - A light to medium color ale.
India Pale Ale - Heavily hopped, bitter, high alcohol version of a Pale Ale. Invented to survive long sea voyages to British troops in India.
Brown Ale - A brown color ale, the color of which is due to more well-roasted barley malt.
Porter - Ale with more roasted/burnt barley malt.
Stout - Ale where the malt is thoroughly roasted/burnt.
Hefeweizen - Light ale with wheat added to supplement the barley malt in the brewing process. Generally unfiltered.
Pilsner - The classic light lager. Light malts, light german hops are the hallmarks of the style.
(Almost all big brewery beers such as Coors, Heineken, Budweiser, Saporo, etc. are based off of the pilsner style.)
Dunkel - Dark lager beer
Bock - Hearty, higher alcohol lager.
Octoberfest Marzen - Amber lager, more alcohol and slightly sweeter.
