just been having a pleasant chat over at Cgtalk with some nice twelve year olds (probably 34 but to me they will always be twelve)who were going on about how cool one system was while the other system sucked blah de blah de blah.
i have one question, were you ever a fanboy, if so why? why become infatuated with a company that want your money? why spend your energy deffending their name blah blah.
lets form a raiding party and go and tell their moms.

I think it was a lot harder to be a fan of a particular company when it was Atari vs. Nintendo vs. Sega. At least those guys loved video games. Sony and Microsoft seem to love only money.
I only defend companies that are privately owned or only a particular product. Not a name itself.
ninja-yeah i always go for the uderdog, its also ghood for bizzness to have more companies rather than less.
i was actually a sega fan cos i couldnt afford a nintendo, but really i wanted one deep inside
Console-wise, never. The games are what matters to me. I usually pick up every system at some point.
back in the day, I was a nintendo fan boy. Had nothing to do with advertising, I was just mental about the system because I hated the brash image of sega at the time. Games like toejam and earl did nothing for me. Alex kidd was ok.
Then I became amiga fan boy. At one time I was Amiga vs PC. Amiga just rocked in so many ways.
Now I guess I have left it all. I couldn't give a flying fuck which next system is best... and I only chose DS over PSP for the battery life. What a sad old man I have become.
although I would say that Sony TV/ Video / Digi TV / Stereo products are largely superior to most home equipment. Sony playstation I'm not bothered about.
I've never understood the whole thing either.
I'm also a Pixar fanboy, because I don't think anyone has really topped them in terms of quality CG movies. Hmmm for the most part I'm pretty anti-fanboy, so don't know much else to list.
and everybody loves an underdog!

Somebody on Gamespot said it best, "The console war is a marketing scheme and companies would love for you to be their next unpaid employeee."
FB2- "well wine has like 3x as much power, and comes in a glass bottle that you can also use as a varse"
FB1- "but beer has like 5000 bubbles per second and you can also use the can as crack pipe..... TBC
slowly becoming a mac fanboy, buying my second system next week, for obvious reasons

I rambled on about it for nearly an hour in Dramatic Lit class.
It was very boring.
