i havent been into the whole comic market for a while,
im looking to get back into it and start reading a good series,
anyone know a good series being american or manga based,
i heard Ultimate X-Men was a good one,

Ultimates. You can find the first 13 issues in TPB form and Ultimates 2 is a Damn fine read as well. Other than that I really have fallen out of step with comics in the last year or so.

I did one of these threads myself a while back and got a lot of helpful suggestions.

When I went to a shop to buy, I was still lost and kind of depressed at the quality of a lot of the art I saw.

Well for art you can trust the first 6 ironman of volume 4, all of the venom vs carnage, the new ghost rider comics, walking dead, marvel zombies, frank millers robocop, Hard Boiled, and Shaolin Cowboy.

Used to read a varied mix of marvel and that crowd, whatever looked interesting when I'd swing by an awesome local comic book store that shut down a few years back. Subscribed to Fred Perry's Gold Digger series for a long while, and always picked up Shirow Masamune's mangas (loved his attention to silly little details, like making apologies to the reader for a tank round not doing what it would do in real life).
