I did, sorta. Then I had to go back after I used up all my PTO and sabbatical, cos I couldn't find the gig I was looking for and unfortunately being a dirty immigrant it's illegal for me to sit in my apartment in my boxers unemployed (appealling though that prospect is) for any length of time.
Now I'm stuck in no mans land 'cos I accepted at the new job but my work visa is proving much harder to transfer than I was led to believe so I can't give notice just yet
Note that now I am so beyond caring that I've just spilled that information out on the internet. Seriously, I just don't care anymore. I'd be fine with going back to England.

Just leave m8, go back home long enough to see that it's only there in memory and then work out what next once your head has cleared enough to let you put it behind you and find somewhere to be happy again.
Ror: It's not about England. I barely think about the place anymore. I have a huge family and 5 brothers and sisters and were all close, and they're starting to have their own kids now. Plus the old dear is getting on a bit. I just feel a responsibility (and a want) to spend more time with them all.
But anyway, I'll update folks on my situation soon. Looks like Im hanging around here for longer.
