I know I know, the whole "band of animals getting together to accomplish a task CG movie" is getting a little formulaic these days. But I caught a matinee yesterday of this and it was actually quite a bit more enjoyable and well done than I thought it would be. Great animations, pretty great cast of voices and some really nicely done characters.

3d nerdism; the human characters looked kind of bad,I've noticed this seems to be a tread when a CG movie makes stylized animals, the human characters then turn out looking a bit weak in comparison. But that's open to interpretation.

The human characters were very "Shrek". The fur shaders on the animals were quite believeable. But the hair on the humans looked like rooted doll hair.

Technical issues aside ... I laughed real hard during the movie.

I enjoyed it. For me it was one of the better animated movies I've seen in a while. The Turtle was my favorite visually. I loved how they handled his hands/arms.

HEH I loved it when they gave Hammy the Squirrel the energy soda and the world stopped.

Even though it was another funny animals movie, I really liked it. It also had some really awesome prerendered technology going on.

It came off as too short to me. funny, but short. I wish they spent more time on them raiding the neighborhood houses for food.

I liked Shatner as the possum smile.gif

    Best part... agreed

I took my kids to it on the opening weekend. All of us enjoyed it. I think they purposely didn't put the time into the humans, but I agree, they were lacking in the details that the animals had. I was thinking more Incredibles than Shrek though wink.gif

Crazed squirrels seem to be a theme lately.. BUT, in this movie as well as hoodwinked, the squirrel made both movies worth my money. The world stop was the best part by far! "Cars" is coming out in a week.. looks to be good
