Under Max 8 ... Directx 9.c ... Photoshop CS2 everything was done under 1024x1024 textures sheets
I've got some issues regarding textures done in Max when doing lowpoly work.
Here's whats happening: In the first image im showing what i actually painted. Its a strip for a belt,
In this second image this is what the default max viewport is giving me:
How can i have the stripes intact ? or is it normal that the Max viewport resolution mish-mash everything like that ? How do you folks paint little lines in your texture so they show up propelly in Max,at least for lowpolgon work ?
Thanks ..
I hope someone helps me this time.

- Customize menu (at the top)
- Preferences
- Viewports tab
- Configure Driver (button at the bottom left of the viewports section)
Then in that new window, try changing the "download texture size" and the other texture size as high as they will go, and click "Match bitmap as closely as possible".
That should help.
I did what you told me but nothing changed in the viewport, so figured id restart Max and just woow! its just nice and clean.
You don't know how much time, sleepless nights and headaches you saved me.
Highly appreciated many thanks for this.
