I think the light bake didn't really work in this instance, sure it gave you the base shadow areas, but it also added in a lot weird lines and some extreme shadows on the cheekbones.
Considering you said you're fairly new at this, I'm not going to say its bad, because its not. It's great to see you've experimented with some ideas. Even I've tried this idea once, but it proved more trouble than its worth.
My suggestions would be to lighten the shadowing on the cheek bones, try removing some of those lines around the nose and put a bit of colour variation in the face.
Here's a quick paintover I did in about 3mins to show you what I mean. My paintover isn't perfect (too much purpley colour under the eye - black eye?) so I'm not telling you to do how I did. Its just an example.

Isn't it supposed to be the Reverend Green? I'm sure it was in my version...

It's Mr Green in mine, which's box is sitting right next to me.

Zoomed way out to hide how atrocious the head is. Didn't figure I could draw good side reference, so I got some hasty front and winged it.

This is my first time texturing this way. Mouse and Photoshop 6.
Feedback welcome, I suppose I'm fairly new to this still.

I'm hesistant to smooth or color it too much, but I'll definitely clean up the poor work I did around the nose and see about changing the cheeks.

Well, he's supposed to kill people in observatories with candlesticks. I assume psycho isn't too far off.
Hawken, thanks, I'll make sure to adjust the eyelids a bit.
