Odd Photoshop problem

In CS2 is there some way to hide or close out the little linking box next to the visibility box on the layers? I was painting away the other night, went to go link some layers to move them and...WTF!? Where did it go? The little box was gone. Now there's only one box and its for the vis. I couldn't find any setting to turn these on or off...Does anyone know what might cause this and how I can get it back?

I'm sure its going to be something stupid like the capslock key causeing the brush tool to not display the brush size.

CS2 took out the link box, now you just select multiple layers the way you would multiple files and use them like that.

you can still link the layers in a more permanent fashion if you right click the multiple layer selection...

or if you click the little "chain" icon on the bottom of the layers pallette.

wow...I switched from 7 to CS2 probably a month ago (now a little credit, I did move during that month...but)and the linking boxes have been gone the whole time? doh...
I don't really use the linking much with painting, but I was doing some logo design the other day and noticed their absence.

this drove me absolutely batty for a while, now ive adjusted to it, and accept its shittiness.

now, if they could only fix the god damn size of the layer folder groups.... that infuriates me.
