I was looking for some models to use in my game Abyssal
http://www.abyssalonline.com
I was searching and came across this page:
http://www.grinninglizard.com/lilith/api/models.html
which described some MD2's downloaded from Polycount. I went to Polycount but the download section is down, so I downloaded Lilith and snatched the avatars out of there.
I then tried to e-mail the address at the page asking for permission to use them, but the messages bounced, bad e-mail addresses.
What are the copyrights for the models downloaded from Polycount? The Lilith documentation stated that "The demo uses publicly available models downloaded from Polycount"
Publicly available can mean a lot of things, and it doesn't neccessarily give permission to use them. Abyssal is non commercial, free in fact, if this is a factor. Thanks.

I haven't gotten bounce messages for James Green, Ryan "MrRogers" Butts and NPherno (the "N" in NST) so maybe those e-mail addresses are good.
James Green is Gwot on these forums, I *think* that email address is valid.
Not sure about Brian Collins.
So yeah, email those guys and ask nicely, I'm sure they'll have no problem.
You should be able to download the models directly from FilePlanet if you search the model list in there, I think, even though polycount's list is down.
