What I'll be using to build my lo poly around. Gonna step up in devisions and start refining his look in zbrush now. I'll be doing the wings as sperate objects as far as the high poly is concerned, as well as the teeth toungue and nails.
Yea I've got one on there, but it needs a lot more work so these renders have it disabled I believe. I also can't seem to get the glow map to appear the way I want it... kinda learning xsi rendertree as I go along. Think I'm gonna reinstall and hope that solves my realtime woes.
The orange flames aren't really popping from the green very well. If you have the polys, I'd give the flames a couple more so they can flow out of the eye instead of laying ontop like a pair of newfangled sunglasses.
The lowpoly version seems to have lost a lot of the wrinkles and such from the high poly (the forehead most noticeably). There is also a seam running down his head. I'm not well versed in normal maps so I don't know the best work around, just caught my eye.
Lastly, thought about more color variation? He's really green right now with sprinklings of a worn tan color. Maybe a gradient from the tip of his head down to his forehead area? You could probably also crank the contrast up a bit all over to pop all the rolls/flabs/wrinkles more.
The highpoly looks really cool and his stubby legs are so cute!
I actually did away with a lot of the arbitrary details in the hi rez model. It's kind of a way to force my self to go from general to specific, as I have a bad habit of doing the opposite. I'm hoping the seem is just because that part is mirrored and can be fixed with some tweaking. I agree with everything else will over haul a lot of the color tonight most likely.
Thanks.
