I know strange isn't it? I usually pimp things with their guts hanging out, or some type of hideous monster.
So my girlfriend and I are going through a roughish patch at the moment, and I made this for her tonight to cheer her up a bit.
This actually has some back story, you see, ever since my girlfriend saw the one Linda Bergkvist painting of herself riding a cat, my girlfriend has wanted me to paint a picture of her that was of her riding a kitten, and she wanted it to be ridiculously disneyish, with her dressed as a princess and everything. Because as a child she had a princess complex, and absolutley adored any disney princess movie.
So I present you with the Kitten Princess!
I know it doesn't flow as wel as it could, but I think I did well considering it's about 5 hours worth of work, but a good chunk was spent on her, and I think it shows , haha.
Now I'm off to bed, because I'm pretty fucking tired...
(edit)
I had totally forgotten about the shadow,Thanks for catching that Toomas!
I also added some birds and cookie rain...just because...

I´m sure she will like it
needs more bunnies in the field though.
Although to me (I think it's just because it's a woman riding a cat in a la la land place) she looks slightly derranged.
Other than that, I think its magically delicious
Tulkamir, The slightly deranged look is supposed to be there, sort of like a look of someone who's O.D.ing on happiness. Haha.
Thanks for the help everybody!
I think she'll love this
The bunny is a nice touch, it seems to really bring the piece together.
My only complaint is the kitten's face... I think it almost looks like a puppy rather than a kitten
It is a super cute piece of art and I'm sure your lady friend will absolutely adore it =D
-DeathKitten =^..^=
But I think you made it worse with the new shadow, because it looks like you added drop shaddow effect and that makes kitten appear to be floating above the grass, like there's distance between her feet and the ground where shadow is cast. Also you could make shadows softer (add some blur) and even fainter. Aside from that the only thing that still bothers me a tiny bit is the way it appears that kitten's hair from the ear is right on top of princess' chin, right where you would expect her tongue to be if she were sticking it out. So if you have kitten and princess on separate layers, I think it would be good if you nudge one layer a bit, so that princess' face is not covered.
Anyways, I'm sure you will make your darling very happy with this piece!
