Hey guys, I'm looking to get a 19inch LCD monitor and I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on what brand to go with. I would be using it mainly for 3ds, photoshop and gaming.
I got a refurbished Philips 24" widescreen monitor, it had this strange colored noise, so I called Philips, they had a replacement monitor out in two days and ever since it's been an amazing monitor. I vote Philips.
I think the main thing to look at for with LCD monitors is to make sure there's no ghosting, in college they had some older 19" LCDs where you got ghosting, like your cursor was a bullet in the Matrix.
just to clariffy what Hawken is talking about, he is refering to the out ports on your video card not the actual "monitor". Only use an adapter if you are forced to.
I am referring to the monitor. A lot of old shit ones and even some new ones only have vga ports. Most new ones have two ports, one for dvi in and one for vga in. The cables are rarely molded into the monitor.
I've got a pair of dell's 20.1" LCD monitors... they rock. They've got vga, dvi, rca, and svid in, and can quickly jump between each input with a single button press (and it has picture-in-picture). I do both my console and pc gaming on them.
looks cool, BUT i don't recommend using tiger direct, a friend of mine had lots of problems while ordering from them...
i always use newegg. here's the monitor i have now, they have a weekend sale on it, for this price this thing can't be beat. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824014105 its pretty much the same as the Viewsonic one specwise, but cheaper plus its on newegg. I use this monitor and its pretty badass, no ghosting or anything, really good LCD monitor.
SOLD!
That is a good deal. And if it's good enough for you then it's good enough for me.
It came out to $317 & Free Shpping, plus a $40 rebate. That's a pretty sweet deal. Thanks mr_Rockstar!
Just got it today. No dead pixels - flawless.
The refresh is great for games as well. This is my first widescreen monitor - very impressed.
Rockstar - you have a good color profile for this guy? I can't seem to get it quite right.
