Hey all. So Im brand new to the forums. I'm currently in school right now getting ready to graduate and am working on some stuff that is kinda new to me... namely animals. This is my rough of a wolf I plan on practicing with in zbrush since I just got the glorious program. I feel like he is a bit off but my eyes are tired and I could use some advice. I am pretty sure its a problem in the neck but my adjustments werent making it feel any better. Anyways, looking forward to getting to know everyone.

welcome to the boards. Stuff like this usually goes in the pimpin and previews section.

As far as critiques, wolves need tails smile.gif

Yeah, the bottom of the neck is too low. Also, you might check wolf anatomy illustrations and polish up how it's legs attach to the torso (mainly the front shoulder).

Thanks. Sorry I was unsure where this would go. It has a tail its just hidden =) I figured that part was pretty basic and that I could be fairly sure my tail was accurate. Ill re-reference my sources, unfortunately I didnt have an actual anatomy handy so its all from photos, most of which were blah angles. Thanks again.

You might find an image search on wolf or dog skeletons and musculature to be helpful. In the front view the legs could use definition where joints and muscles are, right now it is fairly geometric. Also the way the back of the foot contacts the ground seems off a bit, in digigrade animals the 'heel' is not on the ground or really even part of the foot.

    Great start, keep going!
