1. How do I create various maps such as, Bump, specular, normal, glow/emissive, height maps. *any additional I may have missed please mention them* (If I mentioned something twice is because my lingo's off also ).
2. Where are the tutorials for these mentioned above if they are hard to explain in words (of course images tell a bigger/better tale)?
3. Out of the maps mentioned above are any of them going out of style, as in will be totally eliminated from being used within the character texture creation process?
4. I have read that Hyper has mentioned a while back that he thinks hand painted textures will go out of style and we will be using only shaders.
How true is this? for those who are already in the game companies where I dream to be some day.
As you can see I am crying for help.
Obviously I want to get better so I must humble myself & ask for help to get better.

Not sure I understand this point or question.
I assume when you suggest that hand painted textures could be replaced by *shaders* you actually mean replaced by procedurally generated textures? I'm really not sure what you mean, but I can assure you that for example the only way to create a convincing face colour map is by hand. Be that for games, next gen games or pre-rendered use.
I've got some thoughts on creating colour,spec and bump here.
