Challenge #23- Destructable - Tulkamir

Attempting to make a grand piano. I've never made a destructable prop before, so I'm just winging it in that aspect. The rest is pretty sad, and this is just an early wip. I'm playing around with it some trying to figure out Zbrush and other things, so hopefully I still have time to finish for the end of the contest. Oh well, I won't be winning anything anyways, but I'm still gonna do my best.

Critiques/comment/help would be great.

I have a challenger! I actually didn't even know what I was going to do... seeing this though, I think I may do a grandfather clock in the same style. I'm not sure... more brainstorming to do. I must have my icon!

Haha, that'd be cool. If we end up the only two it'd be interesting to have our entries in the same style.

And no worries, you'll likely get that icon. Though I plan to do everything in my power to stop that from happening.

you guys are amazing! i wonder if it is worth the effort to even try. i've got a good concept on what i would like to model, but since i am such a newbie to modeling, i don't know. maybe someone wants concept art instead?

Zenarion, I suck the big one, so join up and we can compete with each other while Ninjas walks all over us.

But seriously... might as well do it, there's nothing to lose and lots to learn! That's why I'm trying for it.

will start drawing as soon as i gte home. and start modeling as soon as i get my PC back. although, i need to do some research. i've never used "diffuse maps" and "specular maps" and do not even know what those things are!

Diffuse is for color, spec is for shininess. Just post into our threads with questions. I'll be happy to help you out!

Minor update. Haven't had much time to work on it yet, but I got some stuff done today. Had my first experience with Zbrush and normal maps on the legs of the piano. As you can see they turned out like shit, and I'll likely end up redoing them fully. Again, any critiques or comments would be very welcome.
