As with
@polycount.com email addresses, Polycount Cottages (the GSI-hosted ad-supported ones, not the .net paid ones) are in the process of being moved/overhauled/shut down.
If you want to retain access to your cottage, GSI needs to set you up with a new account on the new servers. As a bonus, you'll also get a new domain name: yourname.cottages.polycount.com
<ul type="square">
[*]
Step One: Email
techsupport@gamespynetwork.com and tell them you'd like a new account set up for your old Polycount Cottage.
[*]
Step Two: Include your
current email address, your
old FTP login, your
real name, your
cottage name, and the
original email address you first requested the cottage with. Make sure it's clear which is which.
[*]
Step Three: GSI will email you back with a signup link, they'll confirm your stuff, and they'll give you access to your old cottage at its new address.

As with email, if you don't use your cottage, if you forgot about your cottage, if you don't care about your cottage, please don't sign up again. Let us use the space for people who will actively use it!

> Thanks for the heads up. I've had my cottage for over six years, and I wouldn't want it to just disappear on me without warning. I will attend to this immediately.
EDIT> I just checked out my site and noticed that some of the pages and images were broken. I've also noticed that the add banners that were broken for several years are now operational again. I had been trying to fix the broken banners over the years, but it looks like GameSpy saved me the trouble.

I didn't realize they would forward like that (which was why I was going to move on).
I'd like to keep it up there just to keep image links live.
Is that kosher? If so, I'll email the GSI guys to get set up again.
The main reason I want to keep my cottage is that that adress is scattered all over the net, not the free webspace.
The old addresses will be redirected to the new ones.
But if your cottage is not being actively used, I presume even the new address will shut down, too.
Access to the cottage via FTP works, too.
If the forwarding works, is there a need to re-set up the account with gamespy?
when again will it be up and running????
