My friend had a double dragon cabinet in his living room. I think Final Fight was better but then I never had the ability to play it drunk. That TMNT game was pretty ok as well.
I've got a three screen Ninja Warriors sitting in the back area of my dad's company, waiting for me to have the spare $ to replace one of the three screens and have it running in all it's glory.
Although not really in the genre, Agressors of Dark Combat for the Neo Geo was a fighting game that controlled exactly like a 1 on 1 beat-em-up. It was rad!
no, they're called run 'n guns. Shoot-em-up applies to the LOL JAPANESE SHIP IN SPACE COMBAT IN ONE DRECTION DODGE THOSE ZILLONS OF BULETS! NOW DO IT FOR 5 HOURS!1!111
I think I've spent more time with Cadillac and Dinasours but The Punisher is my favorite among beat'em up's:
BTW I think a shoot'em up is something like this(CheapAlert already mentioned but it's a pretty fun game): Raiden X
obson: Funny how you call it a three player game and provide a screenshot that shows score fields for four players...
Yep, Sunset Riders was the biggest guilder-muncher for me (I've only seen arcades on one vacation to Holland and those things ate guilders). I was so proud when I managed to get a spot in the highscore table. Was there any reason to use one of the pistoleros?
I've got the TMHT game for my C64, it's not that accurate as a port (missing some effects and stuff) but the gameplay is mostly intact.

Damn, forgot about Sunset Riders too. Not technically a beat em up I guess, more like contra, but it could be played 3 players.

This fucking game rocked!
My grandparents live in a retirement community that is in the back lot of a major inn/resort in their area. The resort has an arcade in it with nothing but classic games. I played this game so much!
I had a soft spot for the Aliens Vs Predator arcade, the sheer number of drones to thwock was a sight to behold. Punching the Queen in her ovipositor was cool, too.
Anyone remember the name of this: you could toggle between two characters: a tiny dude with a flail riding a tiger or a tiny dude on the shoulder of a giant. Lots of gore and big goblins to punch.
I was a SNES nut.

Contra on the NES is really a cracking game, I played it in a bar the other day!!
though...contra wasnt really a beat-em-up... contra was more like an eaaarrly ancestor to the FPS...only sidescrolling.
For beat-em-ups you have to go with the arcade xmen game (NOTHING CAN STOP...THE BLOB!!!), or Battletoads!

Check my website.
But it's not a Brawler. I call it a 'Western Bounty Hunter Practice Murder Simulator'.
played track and field last night, with some double dragon.
and bad dudes vs dragon ninja. I never noticed, but that game is a real bore
Spent many quarters on...
Pac Man
Dig Dug
Tron
and most of all...
Asteroids (Asteroids Deluxe sucked)
ohh and two quarters for each round of Dragons Lair
Knights of the Round. A bunch of my officemates played through the whole thing on emulator during one lunch break, me as King Arthur. Bliss!
