Arrrgg... it is probably all well ment, but all this commandline nonsense will seriously frighten any n00b.

Right now Linux (with a proper distribution like Ubuntu) is at a point were you need the commandline about as often as you need it for XP (= never, or at least almost).

funny, cause about the only reason i would want to set up a linux system is if i wanted to do stuff command line (no flame war comment there, just how i feel about the OS)

Well that is the cool thing about linux, you CAN do everything with a commandline if you like
