I finally got around to rendering out my Imperator stuff, and Oblivion stuff and uploading it to my site. Anyone who wants to post other Imperator or Oblivion art, feel free to use this thread.
Oblivion art.
Imperator art
Extra high poly stuff I didn't take in game shots of.
I recognized that statue from Oblivion. I remember staring at it in game. Looks real nice! (by the way, the link for it is broken. You might want to take out the "http//")
That green biosward rocks quite a few socks as well.
good stuff man, you're really gettin good at mechanical/solid modeling. I like that you actually took the time to model a vagina on that female character heh. Attention to detail counts!
LOL, I need to correct that, it's not 1.5 billion, it should be million. TOO MANY NUMBERS.
Melkior, I did remote contract work for Oblivion, those assets are in the game.
Swampbug, most of those high poly models for Imperator were about 1.5-2 days. Then I made the low poly from scratch. (by hand, with Egyptian Trigonometry)
super stuff! I love your step-by-step setups; great to see the workflow. any chance you could give a quick synopsis of what the objects are from Imperator, for those of us not familiar with it? are all four weapons? what scale is the fourth one?
You modeled alot of the high poly into the mesh.. You could of just rammed alot of that geometry into the other instead of cutting it in and some you could of floated on top or used a height map to do it. Why did you choose to model it in?
Weapons are pretty cool, cloth on the girl seems a little unconvincing, and it looks as tho you could have gotten better results if you would have modeled the highres like a statue, and not like a deforming character, and then setting the low poly geo around that, instead of rigging and posing the low if thats what you did? As example by the badly deformed shoulders. Could have used more polys there and less in some other areas that really dont affect silouet.
the female statue is my favorite. I can see why you modeled then posed because would of been extremely painful modeling the cloth drapped. Thanks for sharing

The pistol is really the only model that has blatant examples of this and it was one of my first models. Most of those models have tons of floating parts, more and more as I went and learned more about the process. Now I float everything I think I can get away with.
EQ I agree I should have redistributed the polies after posing it, and the zbrush came out a bit janky. First folds I'd done in zbrush.
Yeah her face is probably a bit long Daz, I remember lengthening it for some reason or another but apparently I went to far! And yeah, cloth is definately not my strong suit, but I'm learning! :-D
I noticed the quality of those statues stood out from the rest of the Oblivion world. Good to know you were the artist! Shame about Emperator. It was the only MMO I was actually looking forward too. Still no idea why it was scrapped.

I havent been on the boards in a few months .. what do you mean your oblivion art? Did / do you work for Bethesda? Or is this for a mod/plugin?
PS the link for the girl statue is has the http on there twice and therefore does not work.
looks great btw

and did you just de-rez the high geometry?.. or create from scratch a low rez to match the high rez.
As I told you before I want to have the sex with that dragon statue.

just out of curiosity, what was your timeframe like on the oblivion contract work?
Cman, the oblivion stuff was done, one week per asset, in my evenings, so I'd say roughly 6-8 hours total.
