i'm wondering if someone here has some experience generating lightmaps with max. What I'm actually trying to do is to bake my objects lights/gi infos on a single texture. And I can't seem to find a way to make a single uv channel for all the objects without ataching them...
Oh and if lightmaps are easier to do on Maya just say how

Thanks!

i think you have to have them as a single object for it to share the same lightmap. if not each object can have its own light map. just realize you cant have overlaping uvs or mirrored ones bcause the shadow will do tha same. you can have it on a second uv channel for the light map and respect the uv coordinates of the diffuse on the first channel.

what i would do is, save a copy of the scene, and in this copy, attach all the objects and make a new UV-map on map channel 2, then add whatever lighting you want and bake that down with render to texture. Then split the objects back up if necessary. And save again.
