PS CS2 'Menu Freeze'

Anybody encounter this problem or have a solution to it?

Sometimes the menus will just stop working, you can try and click on the menu titles all you want, but the menus won't come up. Sometimes, the menus will come up, but they don't actually 'work'. It's quite the annoyance because sometimes it will happen several times a day. If you're working on a file that's been saved before, you -can- press ctrl-S to save it and then re-open PS.

Today I lost a bit of work to it, because it happened on a new file that I hadn't saved yet.

I've been using PS CS2 for quite awhile and it's really the only problem I've encountered with it.

Sometimes i enter in the "quick mask mode" for error presing Q key, and I thought that I was an error.

i get such slowdowns when i work on my powerbook in both photoshop and illustrator.. sometimes the palletes just wont respond .. they just freeze .. yet other components of the gui work .. it's really weird.. i am forced to restart the program ..

i have never encountered the problem on my pc

Have been avoiding photoshop cs2 due to complaints about memory usage. Our team has decided to work with cs1 this product cycle.

I've seen CS2 freeze when using the Nvidia normalmap filter... if I use the 3D preview, then click OK in the normalmap dialog but forget to close the preview window, then nothign works until I kill the preview. Kinda dumb, but yeah it's bit me before.

Also seen it happen when switching from multiple monitors to a single monitor, but a palette opens off-screen. Fixable, but ugly.
