First, some thoughts.
I'm rebuilding my website, and I'm trying to make it as painless to update as possible.
I've realised that in the past I've hand written loads of PHP, or got others to do it for me. The current site has been dormant for 1 year due to the coder not finishing the output code.
With the emergence of the Web 2.0 buzzword, websites like Blogger and flicker and del.icio.us make it easy for anyone to publish news, pictures and links, or to take existing packages and utilites and plug them into their site
Why bother writing a complicated gallery system when I can just embed Gallery (sourceforge)? I can also access that database and write tiny functions to display my most recent picture on my front page.
The same goes for the blog/news system. I installed b2evo, it's very powerful indeed. It handles all that I need to enter, and embeds into my existing site.
Link it all together with CSS and XHTML, and you have a powerful, yet simple to maintain site.
And now, the question.
Links.
If you use a system such as furl, spurl!, or deli.icio.us, you can keep all your links online anf then embed them into your site.
However, all these new system use tags to order their data, and don't use tradional categories. This is perfect for their user directories, but no use to me,
I WANT categories.
So, does anyone know of an online bookmark site where i can:
Add links
Store them in categories
Export those as an RSS/XML feed, where each group of links is wrapped in each category?
Replies
if delicious would wrap each set of tags in the bundles you can set up, that would be grand.
Export those as an RSS/XML feed, where each group of links is wrapped in each category is te important bit.
it seems i can find ones that export to the right format, but not all the information, or ones that export all the info, but to the right format.
