8 years old today! I owe a LOT to this place. If it weren't for Polycount I wouldn't have developed as an artist to get my dream job, met great people or made great friends. So here's to Polycount and many more fantastic years!
Yeah , 8 years.. wow.. Please forgive me for not changing the graphics to reflect the occasion as I have been MORE than busy these last few months.. (Like thats changed in all these years) I have to say I truly miss the free time I had to check the messageboards, update graphics, put up news etc.. even just sitting around and BSing with the old time Polycounters and all the new ones..
Kudos to R13, Bearkub, Cricket and the scores of others who keep us coming back day after day.. I really miss the E3 and QuakeCon fun these last few years.. I promise to come back strong one of these days.. as of late, Im busy with some wonderful news (which Ill share in a separate post so as not to "hijack" this thread)
All in all its been a great 8 and my compliments to all the amazing talents that share their ideas, creatings, advice, and good stories to the rest of us.. You are what makes Polycount a great place..
happy b-day polycount !!!
good to see sites like this one living for that long on the intarweb
Edit : oh and I was doing levels for unreal I guess, or maybe for duke3d...
Woohoo! Same here
I remember getting to the Q2PMP page and thinking "wow! and I dont have to pay for any of this! How cool!" I can hardly believe Ive been coming here for that long. You'd think I'd be a LOT better by now.
I gotta give my respecct to the staff, and crew here, as they keep me interested in the "art" of modeling and 3d, and not just the business. I still get excited "hacking in" a custom player model into another's game.

A toast to Polycount and to the next 8 years helping out untalented schmoes like me find work in their dream job.
