Finally a company that really understands the market and uses it to its own (and our) good.
They did not only cut out the middle man (like I reported earlier ) but also realized that singleplayer (tutorial and bots) and lan-play is going to work with cracks anyway, so why not release it for these purposes for free. That way it is a great demo and all you have to do is to purchase a cd-key for online play (an on lans you can play with your friends)
This is the kind of innovation on the side of retail business the industry needs badly!

I really like the original savage and this is really cool, those guys have been doing alot of very cool stuff, like the cash for art program and now this, looks like these guys are trying to break out of the chains of the ordinary modern gamedeveloper, i'm preordering this from their site, definitely rooting for these guys.

Hey, anyone know how they're z-sorting their grass? It's so soft and smooth, can't be alpha-test, gotta be soft alpha on it. But how the heck do they stop the near grass from punching through to the ground? Can't be separate entities for each clump, that would run too slow.

I think particles are normal for that, since they're being spawned dynamically you should be able to tell in which order to draw them easily.

So then I guess you just respawn them in the same locations but in back-to-front order? But then you'd need to re-send it to the vert cache wouldn't you?
