I was going to snag it for Xbox as it was only 40 bucks, but all the player reviews I read (sadly most 'real' reviews glossed over this) said there was far too many bugs and such to enjoy the game. Lot's of cases of crashes and save files mysteriously venturing to the afterlife.
I decided to pass. I knew I was going to buy Oblivion and didn't want to have to put up with two sloppy games from Bethesda this year.
Its not too bad but the bugs and so forth are a real problem. It does have a great atmosphere though so if you're one to persevere you could garner some enjoyment from it.
It's.....hmmm.... reminds me of alone in the dark, but makes much less sense to me. i like the exploration of the house items, but it's very one track. Not really scary at all. I thought this was based off of Dagon? Does'nt really follow the book as I remember it. It's got some nice effects, but feels very dated. No crashes, but some pretty stupid AI.
Cthulhu ia ia! Fhtagn! Blaaarrghh! Or however it goes ...
I have deep, moist love for Call of Cthulhu first, and Lovecraft himself not far behind. Some of my first actually-pretty-good character models and animation were on Mythos creatures. I can't wait for this game!

The lack of any melee moves is a real drag when you get backed into a corner early on in the game.
Other than that, it has great atmosphere and story. I might revist it sometime soon.
I'm still glad I own it.
