Pandora ....music search thingy

Trawling through my bookmarks today and rediscovered this site:

Awesome for when you want to find music/music artists similar to ones you already know about.

Holy crap this thing is awesome. I spent hours trying to find new music I would like and got frustrated not being able to hear any of the non-mainstream bands I found. Five of them came up on my Pandora list in about an hour.

The only downside I've found is you can only skip so many songs per hour; they hit a string of songs I didn't like, and when I tried to skip one a note popped up explaining this is due to their liscensing agreements. Now I'm stuck listening to crappy music.

frank, use the " guide us " button and tell it " this is not the kind of music this station should play ". you can then skip any and all songs you like this way i think. its more button clicks. but im pretty sure it works. you can customise it and the more often you use it the smarter it gets.. after a while u should almost never get a song you dont wanna listen to.

hehe i put in Trivium, then it played a Kataklysm song, now Skid Row.

I put in Funker Vogt, got 2 funker Vogts, then a covenant, now I'm on Front 242, I do enjoy this, thanks for the link! Even if it was posted before, it's quite new to me.

Oh, and last FM has a much larger music selection. They base it off the lists of its members musical tastes from the plugin they offer that hooks into your favorite music player.

Nope, that's just what I was doing. It hit a really bad patch. I never wanted to hear that crap again.

Ah, well; I just shut it down for a little while.

Oh, and I bought two CDs last night because of discoveries made from this thing. Awesome!
