What's the point of running Windows on a Mac? PCs are generally cheaper, so it doesn't make much sense to me. I've never been a Mac user so I'm a bit ignorant on the subject, but I thought most Mac users absolutely loathed Windows... I guess it would be useful if you wanted to set up a dual boot thing so you can switch between MacOS and Windows.
Sometimes the programs a person wants are on the other platform. In example, a Mac user might want to see the webpage he designed on a pc platform. Or a video editor who likes running PCs normally for his day to day could get a mac dual boot to use final cut pro.
Mac users are not soo easily stereotyped to windows loathers.. No matter what Apple tries to convey.
well the reason that they don't do that is that OSX sin't designed to run on any old bits from the shed you might jamm together.
It's a finely tuned operating system that runs in tandem with the custom hardware configuration. It would be kind retarded to break that quality assurance for the sake of selling a few copies of their product.
[ QUOTE ] I still think apple would be wise to release OSX on it's on. able to run on any x86 machine. it's a nice operating system, if you have enough ram.
Yes but that would mean they can't demand huge license fees on "Apple approved" hardware anymore.

Not to mention the stablity of a "closed hardware system" goes right out the window when you let any johnny new eggs run your OS. Windows would be much more stable if the hardware it ran on was closed. Kind of like how you don't have to worry about console games running because the hardware never changes.

Yeah right that's gonna happen.
