shit! help with website-not showing in IE

I dunno what the problem is, I've tried surfing the web for the answer, and nadda yet. My website shows up fine in firefox for me, but I get nothing in IE. I used Flash 8 to make the site. PLease! Someone help. I was gonna send this stuff off tomorrow to employers!

Scratch that, I was able to get the shockwave to load in IE by putting the address of the swf directly. I wonder if the containing table is screwing things up

in IE, all i get is the link to the flash 8 site. that's it. I dunno. I'm so confused. I'm a firefox user and I just decided to see if it worked in other browsers. good thing i did.

It is the table. I mirrored the site locally and removed them, and it works fine.

oddly enough I get flash and some text telling me to download flash 8.

Why not just export from flash? It can build all the HTML you need.

BTW the animations are screwed up, I just get a still frame and the loading bar flickering wildly.

(oh and why flash 8? seems a bit like overkill. Then again I guess most people don't buy the software so go ahead if that's all thats about these days. Although very new package and you'd be better off exporting at Flash7 movie player as thats the most widely installed)

Honestly if this is a portfolio you shouldn't require really new plug-ins. It will only hurt you if they have to stop looking at portfolios and go download a plug-in. Yes they "should" already have the plug-in like everyone should have the latest video card drivers installed, but often people don't. It would be a shame for you to be over looked because of it.

Personally I would have two versions, HTML and Flash. So they still get to the art if flash fails to load. OK really I would drop flash and just use HTML, K.I.S.S. it. You want them to remember your name because of your art, not your fustrating site design.
