I'm not going to spend my time keeping up with the latest version Gtk just for one app I may not like. Guy needs to design for Windows, then Port to Linux. Or simply a Windows app Linux can run easily.
the right way as in "rely on lots of dependencies" kinda thing? yeh, that's linux. i dunno but i prefer the easy way
yes, static links please.
i hate dependencies that possibly break other apps. number one reason why linux was kicked from my machines each and every time i tried to give it another chance.
where windows used to have the dll-hell, unix systems like to torture with dependency hell. i know, i installed KDE on an SGI. KDE and 20345456454 silly separate libraries. poor me
I don't want to start an OS war. I like Linux. I like Mac. I like what they're about. I'm frustrated with Windows, and will not upgrade to Vista. But for now, I'm stuck with XP.
I simply don't want to deal with keeping libraries installed and up to date for only a handful of apps. Even worse when one app is dependent on one library, while another is dependent on a different port of that same library. The Dark Ages of PC functionality should be fading.
If there's one thing I can say about the app is the UI is more direct to the point for 3D sculpting than Zbrush, though we know the reasons behind that. Cheap, import a gargoyle model and sculpt on that. That would be tons more enticing than that sphere you have.
Are you using a tablet? Because that sculpt looks unacceptably chunky.

gtk's meant to be portable that way

No way... he is doing it exactly the right way
But I guess gtk could be linked staticly for all those poor folks that still have to struggle with windows

Is that thing actually running? I see loads of crash reports on their forums.

Couldn't they release a complete package? I doubt that winxp users are familiar with these things anyways.
