HI guys, another newbie question from me.firstly, just to let you know i am using 3d max 7 and have applied an aplha channled map onto my model to show some areas that should be see through. now for some reason when i do a render the translucancy shows up, however how can i do it so that it shows up in my view port? what do i need to have checked? thanks

other thing Id try is go to the opacity map, click the blue and white checkered box under the material spheres, then go up to parent and click it again (I don't know how scientifically valid the last one is but it seems to have worked for me before)
I've also found using PSD as the texture is fine but using the transparency in that it doesn't like. TGA is fine.
