I saw a thread titled "Don Knotts" and knew what must be up before clicking the link.

Anyone remember that movie where he turned into a fish and worked for the US Navy?

Yeah, this totally stinks.
Neither one of them were even all that old either. Mr. Knotts was 81, and Darren McGavin was 83.
I personally did not know Darren McGavin by name, and it was not till I saw his picture that I even realized.
Just in case everyone does not know, amongst other things, he was the father from A Christmas Story.

This means that
Carl Kolchak (The Night Stalker)
and Barney Fife are now on patrol in the Great Beyond.
Watch out, all you wacky supernaturals!
These guys paid their dues and brought a lot of people some good entertainment. They will be remembered.
Hey, now John Waters can make his epic Don Knotts biopic starring Steve Buscemi.

I always liked him in the Scooby Doo appearances
(also the Andy Griffith Show)

I think his Scooby Doo performance was one of the best they had. Way better than Sandy Duncan.
