Hey all. I'm working on a model right now for the source engine and level of detail came to mind. Does the engine handle creating the LoD models or does the artist have to make them all and then import them? Thanks ahead of time

    The LoD models are created by you and defined in your .qc file. The detail model is chosen based on distance from the camera.

    I'm actually writing a short article on Source LoD right now, so you caught me at a good time. Give me a day or so and hopefully I'll have it on the Source SDK wiki.

    Edit: well, hmm... Somebody else beat me to the punch, I was just writing it because I've had so many questions about it. Ah well. Less work for me wink.gif
