Bioshock : just wow !

I came across some new shots of Bioshock (the "spiritual heir to system shock 2") a few days ago :

these are, simply put, amazing!
The art direction is fantastic, and seems to have taken quite a turn from the "ww2 secret lab" premise, for the better i think, can't wait for 2007 !

It was, simply put, delicious!
The bun was warm, the meat was vaguely beef-like and the pickles- wazoo, I've never had a pickle in me that felt so good!

Bio shock, however, does look great art-wise. Love the HG Wells style stuff.

I'd believe it's guerilla marketing with most other games (okay, that poster is looking suspicious) but Bioshock has a lot of rabid fanboys attached. Kinda like all the console fanboys (and don't get me started on the people that mention RTCW:ET, Nethack or Wesnoth in every single discussion about games). Some people are like that even if you don't pay them. Not that that's a reason to trust them, fanboys are even less trustworthy than marketers...

motives: PA suggests a more sophisticated approach, building up a profile that makes people recognize them as regular posters. Not just registering at a forum and posting ads right away. The point is that anyone who makes good posts around here could be a terrorist that is trying to subject us to subliminal propaganda.

The game looks cool, but not wow! As for that marketing style... yeah i have been there i tried to do that for glace. Most the sites i went to to try that wouldnt let me make a topic unless i had 10-15 posts. We could always try that here.

As for a publisher, Irrational was recently bought by Take 2...

BTW, for those participating in the StarForce boycott, only the European version of FFvTTR had StarForce - and that was put on by Digital Jesters, their European distributor, not Irrational.

It does look lovely from an art direction point, though in some screens the art focus is wandering a little.

Rick: System Shock 2 was known for being a great and atmospheric game (many argue that it's the best FPS and scariest game of all time). Most people expect Bioshock to be in the same vein.
