Hi all. I've been lurking for a bit, and the contest sounds great, so I thought I would give it a go. Since I was recently laid off, I thought it might help me practice on my craft during the down time.
Lot's of good entries already, and I have to be on the bad side.

Some concept sketches to start. He's still missing some detailing, and I'm not sure if I want to go male or female, but you have to start somewhere right? I have quite figured out what I want to do with the calves and feet...so he's still on the drawing board.
I should have some more roughs up by tomorrow night, in hopes that I can start modeling by Sunday.





I posted in the thumbnail thread as well, in case you need that (or should I just do the email thats on the submissions page of the contest site?).

Yeah I tend to agree with you about the uniform....need something a bit more authoritative.
I'll do some more drawing, and see what I come up with.

I would definitely say you should sci-fi up this guy, other than the guns he's looking low tech. Digging the profile concept though, push it to the limit!!!1

Well I was happy to hear the contest got extended....I hadn't
had much time to work on it, plus a bout with pink eye, in both eyes last week left me incapacitated for a bit.

Here is a shot of the head...if I have time, I am going to try and work the bone on the jawline like in the concept.


Going to see what I can get done by Monday...I'm pretty sure I won't finish it in time, but its worth a shot.
