heya.
i browse these boards almost everyday but rarely post. now that the mod i work on just launched its website (
www.nuclear-dawn.net ) i can show you a part of the map i am currently working on - the subway. while i'm responsible for building the map, placing props/textures and lighting, the rest is a team effort. there are a bunch of terrific aritsts working on the mod contributing props and textures to the map.
the subway is representative for the rest of the map in terms of detailling - thats why we used it for the media release/website launch). even though this area is pretty much done its not final yet
anyway, on to the pics. i hope you enjoy them:

The team effort is looking fantastic!
I hope the gameplay lives up to the superb visuals.
Only thing I could complain about (and this is REALLY nitpicking), is that I think your lightmaps could res-up another iteration, to get better shadow definition. I'm sure you guys did it for performance though, so it's a trade-off
Were the holes in the tiles modeled or normal-mapped?
striff: the holes are normalmapped
vassago: thanks for the suggestion. will give it a try and see how it affects performance.
btw... we are STILL in need of a talented (and dedicated) animator. our animator dan lowe was just recently hired and currently lacks time for big contributions.
and if any 2d/3d artists with a liking for environment/props have some time to spare be sure to drop me a mail to

Great work. I wish my mod could reach that level of talent
Alex
That would be drool.
The subway looks gorgeous, man. But I can't stop lookin' at those troops, it's a pretty cool design, what can I say. All in all the mod looks great.
Great art, can't wait to play this one. It looks like something between the NeoTokyo and Dystopia mods.
