I'm not too skilled when it comes to concept art so I've used a photo to help fill in the gaps and painted over top to speed up the process. I haven't really decided on the weapon yet but I'm thinking some sort of pistol.
Nice concept there. Like it alot. But I personally think it would be a good idea to perhaps add some futuristic stuff in there.. gadgets or what have you. This is the future remember She just seems very much like a solder from nowadays
Roger that, I'm still trying to think of what I can add to make her more from the future. Looking through doom and aliens, the only thing that makes the marines from the future is their amour. So yeah, maybe future boots?
Looks pretty good, I like the body and accessories, however I think you could optimise the face a bit more (your edge flow is kinda weird), to save some tris that might be better used elsewhere, and also smooth out the shapes. Her nose is looking pretty blocky for example. Ears also look like they could use some love. Take another quick run across the mesh and really push the quality levels there before you start UV'ing!

Thanks for the crit dude. Do you mean the nose is too low poly or just shaped square, the ref I used has a fairly square nose to start off with which I quite like.
Well it might just be the un-lit render, but it looks like those polys across the front of the nose are in a perfectly straight line - if you look at them from a top view, there should be more of a curve there I think.
I couldn't wait so I thought I'd crank these uv's out tonight. Got the mapping finished but I haven't packed them yet. This new unfold uv's tool in Maya7 certainly makes the process painless.
After my last post I realized I forgot about the right arm so I had to make some space for it to not be mirrored. I fixed some of the texel density on the back of the neck and the other areas as well. Also fixed up the face a bit as Mop suggested. I layed out the base texture last night so hopefully I can spend a whole day on the weekend with textures and shaders.
