i just heard the sound of 1000 screams coming from cg chat's land. Awesome design Snowfly. This will be quite the addition to the black and green machine.
The hardcore-edness of this concept is setting a high level to be reached. I think I may have to rethink my approach to seeming incredibly powerful/dangerous.
Before I was looking to Simon Bisley for tips on looking badass and hardcore.
I need to find my katsuya terada sketch book!
Can't wait to see your 3d work.
Loving the design Snowfly, especially the lower body portion. Though I'm not sure what the greyed out sword looking thing is, or how it is being held. As I don't see a arm of any sort. Again, bad ass drawing, just was confused by that section:)
cool glad the design is getting good feedback. i was just hammering out the silhouette, the way the thing is assembled doesn't make sense to me either. i'll get to work on the particulars this weekend. i've got something good in mind for the sword
wow Snowfly, now that's a great looking baddie! and thank you for posting it, it really helps inspire me to really bring my best to these concepts, it's an inspiration
Haven't been able to mess around with my concept lately. There's an industry tradeshow coming up and I've been working in Flash non-stop the past few days...
Here's all I had time for..made the details crisper, sketched out the construction for the blade arm, and tried on horse legs - which was my original idea but I just couldn't draw it. Or maybe I should stick with the dragon legs?
hmmmmm... that's a tough call, but call it like you see it. i think i'm leaning towards the dragon legs, too, but that might just be because i'm not seeing them rendered up like the others. i guess my main concern is that the dragon legs seem a lot more predatory, like a tiger or something. the horse legs on the other hand are not as aggressive, but they do carry with them a more stately bearing. but unlike some other entries, i don't think you're hard pressed to make your general look more general-ish, he looks like serious either way you take the legs. so now that i have argued for both sides, call it like you see it
yeah, it is tough. I personally prefer the dragon legs, it adds some needed complexity to the lower body, as well as giving it some more kinetic energy.
yep, great design with the sword-holding arm... have to say i also preferred the original legs, they looked more futuristic and interesting to me, the new ones don't quite mesh as well with the whole design IMHO.
Keep up the great work!
very nicely done on the sheet, and after getting a good look at that sword arm i have to agree that its a lovely design as well. i love how in profile that singe dorsal spike on his head just "crowns" him perfectly, very regal. looking forward to the model
Hi guys, this concept's up for grabs. I don't have a decent enough computer to follow through with this. I'll be around to help on the concept side if anyone decides to pick it up.
sorry to hear that, snowfly, i'll put a dollar on the collection plate if you're passing it around though
on the other hand i know that there are plenty of guys who would love a concept from you, and it's pretty good timing, too, my gas tank's just about empty for the charity work
Hey i'd give it a go i've been fighting with a concept idea myself and i can try my best to do it justice.
I probably need a texture artist when im done though but i dont kno how the rules fit with this isnt this like a concept to modeler = 2 ppl working on one entry? If i wanted a texture artist that would = 3 no?!
If anything i can get help *hint* then i can be taught so i would texture metal a lot better.
Anywho let me know if i can grab this from ya, love the design.

I'll start blocking out the model tonight.
i love the 'arms.'
Keep up the great work!
Thanks for all the help, I'm going with dragon legs.

But if ya want it, it's yours.
I am working on a couple concepts anywho, their not as nice as this just doodles but i gotta start somewhere's.
Looking good though kind of low poly andthe front legs dont seem to fit into the wat would be knee area or needs more point of views to critic.
Can't wait to see you complete it!
