ehhh, i listened to it off audible... I've read all the prior books, but I revisited them through audiobooks lately too... the narrator for the first 3 (roy ditrice) was muuuch better than John lee, IMO.

as far as the book,I don't want to ruin anything, but it's alright...definitely not as good as the first 3.... though it gets pretty good in the last quarter or so. Still, the world is soooo deep and rich it's always cool to visit. Enjoy!

Yea, it defintely was the worst of the series so far, but then, it was only half of what the book was supposed to be, but he wrote too much to fit into a single book apparently. A lot of my favorite characters werent included in the book (jon snow). Looking forward to the second half of this book though. That ought to be interesting.

hehe, yea frosty. Im not saying I dont like the other characters, in fact I love all of them. I just dont like any of them being neglected for so long!! And despite how I said I thought it was the worst of the series, I still really enjoyed the book. Martin always keeps me entertained.

Heh, I've waited this many years for it, I'll just wait for the damn paperback :P My hardcover Storm of Swords got trashed in my last move anyway, so my set will still match

Heh, got the signed and numbered edition by mistake, I did think that it was a little pricey but completly missed why .
Awwh, did they switch narrators? That Roy guy had that perfect raspy grampa/ wise old man voice for fantasy.

Roy Dotrice rocked he was ultra cool, but I listen to lots of audio and John Lee is not all that bad, I've heard lots worse. I got my butt kicked by the Missus I was listening to the cd's with headphones on aroudn the house and she was calling out to me and I could not hear her, hehehe....back into the doghouse Frosty. I wanted to get a signed copy when Martin was in Denver last year then sell it on ebay 5 yrs from now, but did not make it. I like the first few chapters so far.

It's about time! Now just 8 more months until it comes out in paperback. Or maybe I'll get impatient and get the hardcover when it comes out at Cosco in a few months.

Ryno I already aced thu 3 cd's this weekend. I dunno what the fuss is about not as good, it is classic GRRM. I love the Guy and the way he delivers! Woot!
